Heather Mettler grew up along the Kona coast of Hawai‘i, where the lush forests, volcanic landscapes, and ocean horizons became lifelong sources of inspiration. She discovered her passion for glass as a teenager apprenticing in sandblasting, later expanding her skills at the Pilchuck Glass School and earning her BFA in Glass from the University of Hawai‘i.
For more than 20 years, Heather has shaped glass into luminous works that mirror the qualities of water—fluid, textural, and radiant with light. Her designs often feature Hawaiian flora and marine life, celebrating the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the islands.
