Camille Izumi, a California native and the oldest of five siblings, discovered her deep connection to the ocean early on. Her love for the sea, paired with a distaste for wetsuits, led her to make the move to Hawaii at just nineteen. Now, two decades later, Camille is proudly settled on the sunny south shore of Kauai, where she balances life as a full-time mother, artist, part-time surfer, and a self-described recovering bartender.
A completely self-taught artist, Camille's creativity has been a constant companion throughout her life. Whether wielding a #2 pencil, a crayon, a paintbrush, or a palette knife, she is always in pursuit of her next piece. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant ocean around her and the people who share her island lifestyle, Camille focuses on the human form in her large-scale oil paintings. Her subjects are often her closest friends and family, making her work a deeply personal reflection of the world she loves.
