Heather Mettler, raised along the Kona coast, has spent over 20 years transforming glass into luminous works inspired by Hawai‘i’s land and sea. She first discovered her passion as a teen apprentice in sandblasting, later honing her craft at the Pilchuck Glass School, and ultimately earning a BFA in Glass from the University of Hawai‘i.
For Heather, glass is a living medium—fluid, versatile, and radiant when illuminated. She draws inspiration from marine life, native flora, and volcanic landscapes, blending natural motifs with contemporary design in each unique piece.
