Love Is a Gift, 11x14 Open Edition Print
Art Print by Janet Meinke-Lau
Why You’ll Love It
This piece pairs a simple, heartfelt message with a soft, expressive watercolor of a calandiva plant. There’s an ease to the composition—light, open, and quietly joyful—allowing the sentiment to feel natural rather than overstated.
Inspired by a gifted plant, the artwork carries a sense of appreciation and connection. It’s a gentle reminder of the small, meaningful gestures that stay with us.
About the Artist
Janet Meinke-Lau’s two passions are sketching and surfing. After studying finance in New York City and working in investment banking and urban and regional planning, she made a decisive shift—choosing to build a life centered around art and the ocean. She moved to Honolulu in 2016 and has never looked back.
She describes both surfing and painting as experiences of connection—moments where she feels fully present, inspired, and in flow. Her work draws from the natural beauty of Hawaiʻi: the colors of sunrise, the movement of water, the textures of trees, and the quiet encounters with marine life. Her style is light and expressive, balancing a sense of play with underlying structure.
