Born and raised on Oʻahu, Ellen Michino is the daughter of two artists and a proud Punahou graduate (Class of 1997). After years spent living across the continental U.S., she returned home to Hawaiʻi in 2011, reconnecting with the islands’ rich natural beauty and artistic inspiration. Originally trained as a Molecular Biologist, Ellen rediscovered her creative path after the birth of her two children, finding her voice in oil painting. Her work reflects a deep reverence for Hawaiʻi’s nature and culture — blending scientific precision with soulful artistry.
