A Local Favorite for Shopping in Honolulu
When it comes to indoor shopping in Honolulu, there’s one place that effortlessly blends convenience, local charm, and a genuine sense of community: Kahala Mall.
What makes Kahala Mall so special? It’s the perfect mix of beloved national anchors—like Macy’s and the Apple Store—that bring in a steady stream of shoppers, paired with long-standing local businesses that give the mall its unique personality. That balance is what sets Kahala Mall apart from any other shopping destination on the island.
As someone who both shops and works here, I’ve come to love not just the convenience, but the character of this place.
The Paperie: A Stationery Lover’s Dream
Let’s start with one of my personal favorites: The Paperie. Established in 1986, this locally owned gem offers a delightful selection of greeting cards, stationery, and unique gift items.
Owner Eldon Ching features products from over 30 vendors and artists, both local and from across the country—including whimsical stickers from Stickopotamus, Jolee’s Boutique, Sandylion, and Mrs. Grossman’s. You’ll also find locally made stationery and island-inspired art prints. Whether you're looking for a special card, crafting supplies, or thoughtful gifts, The Paperie is a treasure trove for paper enthusiasts.
Marsha Nadalin Salon + Spa: A Self-Care Staple
Need a refresh or a little self-care? Marsha Nadalin Salon + Spa has been serving the community since 1993. They offer a full range of services including haircuts, coloring, facials, waxing, and skincare.
Owner Deanne Fee and her highly trained team stays current with industry trends through ongoing education, ensuring you receive top-notch service. And every time I’ve gone in, I’ve walked out feeling refreshed and taken care of.
Macy’s, Apple Store & More: Big Names with Local Convenience
When I’m on the hunt for a new outfit, I love that there’s a Macy’s right across from our shop. It’s so convenient to pop in for clothing, accessories, or even a new pair of shoes.
And for anyone who loves cooking (or knows a home chef who does), The Complete Kitchen is a dream. It’s stocked with quality cookware, clever gadgets, and stylish serving pieces—perfect for gifting or upgrading your own kitchen setup.
And of course, we can’t talk about Kahala Mall without mentioning the Apple Store. Whether I need help with my devices or want to check out the latest tech, it’s always a reliable stop.
Town & Country Surf: A Go-To for the Beach Lifestyle
When I’m picking up something for my boys, Town and Country Surf is my go-to. It’s the ultimate local surf shop, with great options for gear, apparel, and gifts that speak to Hawaii’s beach lifestyle.
Magnolia Hawaii: A Boutique & Gallery Rooted in Aloha
Right in the heart of the mall, you’ll also find our shop—Magnolia Hawaii. We’re a boutique and gallery offering a curated collection of meaningful gifts, home goods, and original artwork from over 100 local artists.
Whether you're shopping for something small and thoughtful or searching for the perfect piece to elevate your space, our goal is to make art and design approachable, personal, and inspiring.
