Nick Kuchar is an Oʻahu-based artist known for his vintage-style surf and travel posters that celebrate favorite locales throughout Hawai‘i. Originally from Florida, Nick grew up surfing and sketching before earning a degree in Industrial Design at Auburn University. After relocating to Hawai‘i more than a decade ago, he began blending acrylic washes with digital illustration to create artworks that honor both the natural beauty and the cultural soul of the islands.
Nick’s inspiration comes from exploring surf breaks, trails, lookouts, and historic landmarks, translating these experiences into designs filled with retro typography, sun-faded hues, and mid-century flair. His collaborations include brands such as Patagonia, Birdwell Beach Britches, and Jamba Juice, and in 2018 he was named the official artist of the Moloka‘i to O‘ahu Paddleboard Race.
