Bethany Strickland is an emerging mixed media artist currently based out of Oahu, Hawaii. Although she have been creating art since she was a child, she didn’t begin my career as an artist until early 2020, when she received her first memorial commission from a friend.
A Connecticut native, Military Spouse, and homeschooling mother of four, the various regions and experiences she have had the privilege to explore have profoundly impacted and directly influenced her creative endeavors. She paints what brings me joy—so my love and appreciation for the sea and various coastal regions she has spent most of my life in has become the focal point of much of heart. Big, beautiful skies and clear blue waters bring her such serenity, she can’t help but feature them in most pieces!
She believes that art isn't meant to be something that merely sits along side us to adorn our spaces. Art is emotion, experience, and personality captured on medium. It can reveal who we are, where we've been, and where we want to be. Her hope for each of her works is that her art will bring the same uplifting peace she feels when creating it.
